Sacked Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett is in talks with Nottingham Forest.
Sky Sports says Forest's new potential owners have made an initial approach to Rowett to discuss the possibility of him becoming the club's new manager once their takeover is complete.
The former owner of the San Diego Padres, John Jay Moores, is leading a US consortium that is in the final stages of buying an 80% stake in Forest. Both sides are hopeful the takeover will be completed before the weekend.
If successful, the Americans are expected to bring in their own man to replace Forest's current manager, Phillipe Montanier.
