Preston North End want Sunderland to change their offer for striker David Nugent.

The Journal says Sunderland's ambition cannot be questioned after this week's £6m bid for England striker Nugent.

Stern John is said to be part of the package despite having only joined in January, though North End would prefer Stephen Elliott.
