Preston North End's boss Simon Grayson was satisfied with his side's performance in the goalless draw against highly-rated Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The Lillywhites, who achieved promotion to the Championship last season, produced a resolute defensive performance to shut down Boro's attacking threat at Deepdale to land a point in their second tier opener.
"I thought the players worked extremely hard, carried out the game-plan and on another day we could quite easily have had a couple of goals," Grayson said.
"We've limited Middlesbrough too, I don't think they had a shot on target, which is some achievement given the players they've got.
"Overall, I'm really satisfied with a really professional performance but also some good quality at times."
