Sevilla president Pepe Castro says coach Julen Lopetegui's job is safe.

Pressue on the coach has eased after victory at Espanyol on the weekend.

Ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen, Castro handed Lopetegui a vote confidence.

"We know how football is. We have had a demanding calendar and with a bad and hard start. We have to overcome it," said Castro.

"I am confident that we are going to be where we belong. Julen Lopetegui is the coach of Sevilla, without further ado. Each one will say later whatever he wants.

"Julen Lopetegui is the coach of Sevilla. We have to abstract ourselves from any situation that is not going game by game. We are going to try to turn the situation around, the squad is with the coach."
