PREMIER LEAGUE: Suarez nets double as Liverpool cruise past Wigan

Luis Suarez has continued his brilliant form this season with a brace as Liverpool produced a solid second half to dispose of Wigan Athletic 3-0 at Anfield.

The Uruguayan opened the scoring for the Reds in the 47th minute when Raheem Sterling found him with a low pass from the right with his shot taking a slight deflection off Ivan Ramis and beating Latics keeper Ali Al Habsi.

The lead was doubled just before the hour-mark as a rampant Suarez received a through ball from Jose Enrique to fire past Al Habsi for his 10th goal of the Premier League season.

Suarez then turned provider in the 66th minute when he fed Sterling whose effort was kept out by Al Habsi with Enrique on hand to slot home from close range.

The victory allows Brendan Rodgers' men to move slightly up to 11th position with Roberto Martinez's Wigan dropping to 15th with a second successive defeat.
