Premier League stars have joined Vitesse Arnhem's season ticket campaign.
With the Eredivisie abandoned and the club on shaky financial ground due to the coronavirus lockdown in Holland, Vitesse have launched a campaign to sell a record number of season tickets for next season. There's a fear that as much as €7m could be lost over the next 12 months.
Nemanja Matic (Manchester United), Christian Atsu (Newcastle United), Martin Ödegaard (Real Sociedad), Bryan Linssen , Marc van Hintum, Igor Gluscevic and Paulo Rink have already purchased one or more season tickets. Marco van Ginkel (Chelsea) and Davy Pröpper (Brighton & Hove Albion) are also supporting the club via fans' group Box 212. All players mentioned have played for Vitesse.
Vitesse announced: “(Former) players of Vitesse show their unconditional support! A group of (former) players join forces for a wonderful initiative. Especially at this time, they want to help the club through this difficult period. Together with them and our supporters, an action has been started in which they buy season tickets which they then donate to the Vitesse Involved Foundation."
