Premier League explore radical approach to conclude season

A daring idea to help finish the 2019/20 season is gaining momentum amongst Premier League clubs.

Matches have been suspended until April 30, but that date is likely to be pushed back as the coronavirus pandemic has forced Britain into lockdown.

The Independent says Premier League clubs have devised a plan to play televised games across June and July, with teams isolated in 'World-Cup style' camps.

These camps would be set up in the Midlands and London.

Matches being played behind closed doors is another strategy, but the isolated camps idea is the one gaining the most support.

All 92 matches would be played, with a handful on every day over the two summer months.

The government is reportedly in favour of the idea, as it would help the population become engrossed in sport and more likely to adhere to lockdown rules.
