Premier League confident only four matches needed for neutral venues

The Premier League believes that only four of the matches from Project Restart will take place in neutral venues.

The Daily Mail reports that a top flight official, Bill Rush, wrote to all 20 clubs regarding the possible playing of some games at neutral venues.

An initial list of six games was given, but it has now been narrowed down to two.

The two games, Everton vs Liverpool and the game where Liverpool may win the Premier League, are both likely to take place at the club's stadium.

Merseyside Police gave their blessing that the matches could go ahead in the area.

Greater Manchester and Northumbria police must still decide on games, including Manchester City v Newcastle and Manchester United v Sheffield United.

The Premier League has still not released an official list of when and where fixtures will take place when the league resumes.
