Prem clubs challenge Rangers for Liverpool striker Solanke

Steven Gerrard recently took over at Rangers for his first managerial experience and is now looking for first club signings.

The very first could come from Gerrard's old club – Liverpool, in the shape of Dominic Solanke.

Betting company BetStars saythe odds are the striker will move to Ibrox, but there are more clubs interested in his services, including rivals Celtic.

Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: "Steven Gerrard could be closing in on his first signing as Rangers boss in the form of Dominic Solanke, according to the odds.

"The Liverpool forward has struggled for game time this season and is yet to score for the Reds since his summer move from Chelsea.

"Solanke is odds-on at 8/11 to move to the Ibrox Stadium.

"Although the odds have the Gers as the runaway leaders for Solanke's signature, Leicester are also in with a shout of landing the 20-year-old at 3/1.

"Newly promoted Wolves and Cardiff City have also been linked with a move for the forward at odds of 4/1 and 8/1 respectively, whilst Newcastle are valued at 5/1 to sign the England international.

"Solanke can also be found at 6/1 to sign for Celtic in a move which would see the forward re-unite with his former youth coach at Chelsea, Brendan Rodgers."
