Stoke City manager Mark Hughes was full of praise for Ibrahim Afellay and labeled his performance in the Capital One Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday as his best in a Potters shirt.
The Dutch winger opened the scoring by netting the first goal of his Stoke career in the 30th minute of the 2-0 quarter-final win at the Britannia Stadium.
After the game, Hughes said: "I thought he was outstanding tonight, and in my opinion produced his best display of the season for us.
"He is clearly a really talented individual and you could see that given his performance, and the way that he took his goal this evening."
