Portsmouth offer £10M for West Ham target Anelka

Portsmouth have made a £10 million bid for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.

The offer arrived last night, says the Daily Mail, with from Portsmouth and Bolton haggling over the figure for the France forward yesterday. Bolton are looking for a fee closer to £12m - making a £4m profit on the £8m they paid Fenerbahce for the 28-year-old last summer.

Pompey are also prepared to offer wingback Matty Taylor as part of the deal.

West Ham are still interested in Anelka and Portsmouth fear that Eggert Magnusson's cash could yet sway the deal the London club's way.
