Portsmouth goal hero Younes Kaboul has explained why he was smiling after being sent-off in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
You don't see many players smirking when they get a red card.
After all the problems, Kaboul's grin as he left the field spoke volumes. The Pompey ace had already been booked when he was sent packing for ripping off his shirt after scoring an injury-time equaliser.
The law really is an ass but Kaboul said: "When I was sent off, I was still smiling after the goal, because I knew I had rescued a point for the team. I must have looked like the happiest player ever to have been sent off.
"If you saw the emotion of all of us when the goal went in, it was about everything that has happened so far, our problems, everything. When you come back in a game like this, you lose your mind.
"When you love football, it is like the best thing that has ever happened in my life, that is why I was so happy."
