Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie has denied reports former Chelsea boss Avram Grant has been offered the manager's job.
Paul Hart is currently in caretaker charge and along with his assistant Brian Kidd has guided the club towards safety.
Storrie told the club's official website: "Avram is a good friend of the club but to suggest he will be returning to Fratton Park is totally untrue. There have been absolutely no discussions with Avram.
"Had the Sunday newspaper checked with the club, we would have told them so.
"Paul and Brian have done a tremendous job. They came in at a time when we had gained only two points from nine games and were heading towards the bottom three.
"They have more than steadied the ship and we have once again become a team that is very difficult to beat."
