Paul Hart hopes he will be able to keep the Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara on a season long loan arrangement. The 23-year-old has impressed Hart with his attitude and ability since moving to Fratton Park on loan during the summer, but he is due to return to Spurs in the New Year.

"Jamie - like most of the players we signed in August - has fitted in brilliantly," the Pompey boss told The News. "I think he enjoys it here and I think he'd like to stay.

"Him saying he doesn't want to walk away sums up his attitude, but every player we've got is determined to get this right in very difficult circumstances.

"That is the sort of attitude we need.

"I've gone on record saying we'd like to keep him and that hasn't changed and Jamie has said he'd like to stay."
