Portsmouth boss Redknapp: I've never heard of Luisao

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has dismissed speculation linking him with summer moves for Luisao, Pascal Chimbonda and Paul Robinson.

Pompey have been linked with a £15million move for Benfica's Brazilian defender Luisao, with reports suggesting that as recently as two weeks ago they sent scouts to Portugal to watch him in Benfica's 2-0 defeat to Porto.

But Redknapp has rubbished such reports, insisting he has not heard of him, as well as quashing talk regarding Spurs full-back Chimbonda and West Brom left-back Robinson.

"Luisao - who? Sorry, don't know him," Redknapp told The News. "Chimbonda, no, he's a right-back and I've got the best right-back in England in Glen Johnson. I don't need another.

"I don't need Paul Robinson either, no. He's a good little player, but no."
