Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp says he's won the race for Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul.

Redknapp is set to complete the £3m deal this weekend despite late interest from Aston Villa.

Kaboul, 22, met with Black Cats boss Roy Keane and asked for 24 hours to think things over.

But this was because Redknapp was working in the background to persuade the Frenchman to move to Fratton Park.

Redknapp said: "Sunderland and Villa made fantastic offers but the lad wants to come here."
