Niko Kranjcar is hopeful of making a return before the end of the season after initial reports suggested the Croatia international could miss the remainder of the campaign with an ankle injury. The 24 year old was stretchered off with a damaged ankle in Saturday's 1-0 win over Bolton at Fratton Park after paramedics carrying oxygen equipment rushed to the scene.
Pompey boss Paul Hart said, "He is looking a lot better today. We are hopeful he will be back sooner rather than later.
"He's a quick healer, a boy with a strong and positive mental attitude, and that's a big boost for us because he's an integral part of our plans and has been doing well."
