New Portsmouth boss Avram Grant has been assured of transfer funds for the January market.
Grant has been assured by owner Ali Al-Faraj that the club will be able to lift their transfer embargo and money will be available.
Pompey director Mark Jacob, Al-Faraj's legal advisor, said: "We are confident money will be made available to Avram."
The basement club's transfer ban was imposed because of money owed for players.
Jacob added: "We are currently addressing the issue of outstanding payments.
"We anticipate the embargo being lifted by the Premier League well before the transfer window opens in January.
