Porto fullback Alex Telles: We must learn from Liverpool thrashing - and be men

Porto fullback Alex Telles admits their thrashing by Liverpool left the home dressing room in despair.

Liverpool fired five goals past Porto in Portugal last night.

Telles said: "We are sad because of the result but we were not shaken, it would serve as a learning curve for the next matches, we did not take advantage of the opportunities and we knew that they had a very strong team with a good counterattack.

"There are days that do not go the way we want, but as I said we can not shake because we know our potential and soon after we have another game. We have to thank our fans who stayed until the end and we feel embraced by them."

The fullback added: "We know it will be difficult, but we still have a big game in Liverpool. We are men, we have Porto's identity and must live up to that."
