Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson has revealed that Darlington Nagbe will soon be eligible to represent the USA national team.
The 24-year old winger was born in Liberia in 1990 but eventually made his way to the States with his family as an 11-year old.
Nagbe, who has been with the Timbers since 2011, can become available for selection by US boss Juergen Klinsmann later in the year and Paulson feels he is a player whose dynamism will interest the German tactician and his coaching staff.
"Darlington Nagbe is going to be likely eligible for the national team this September, so there's a unique skill-set guy I imagine they'd be interested in," Paulson said on MLSsoccer.com's Extra Time Radio.
"He does so much besides score, and I think most folks recognize that," Paulson added.
"I do think that you're going to see a really good year from Darlington; he was playing really high-quality soccer at the end of the year (in 2014).
"He certainly should've had more goals than the numbers indicated, but I think he's got a big season in front of him."
