Portland Timbers head coach Caleb Porter was satisfied with his side's 2-2 draw with LA Galaxy on the weekend.
The Timbers twice led the MLS Cup winners at Providence Park but conceded on two occasions to come away with a share of the points.
Fanendo Adi scored twice for Portland, the second coming in the 90th minute, before the visitors gave up an injury-time equaliser to Alan Gordon which cost them maximum points but Porter saw it as a positive.
"I think it's important that you have perspective," Porter said.
"We just played toe-to-toe with the MLS Cup champions, and we played very well.
"I think we look effective, we look organized, we're creating chances.
"If we play the way we played the way we played the last two games game in and game out, we're going to get points."
