Port Vale boss signs contract extension

Port Vale boss Micky Adams has signed a two-year contract extension. Adams arrived at Vale Park at the start of June but only officially penned a one-year deal in the early months of the season.

He said: "I have been impressed by the attitude and work ethic of the players since I joined Port Vale and I want to achieve long-term success here. Everyone behind the scenes is also working hard to take the club forward and I see no reason why we can't achieve the right results.

"Success will not happen overnight, but with little steps in the right direction and the support of the fans, I am confident that we can all take the club forward into a new era."

Chairman Bill Bratt added: "I have no doubt that Micky can bring some good times back to Port Vale. You can see how the team has improved in the short time he has been at Vale Park. We didn't hesitate in offering Micky an extension to his contract as the club is tremendously excited by the potential for improvement under his leadership."
