Former Barcelona defender Gica Popescu has revealed his old club are keen on Viitorul attacker Ianis Hagi.

The 20 year-old is the son of Gheorge Hagi, the former Barca and Romania star, and expected to be on the move this summer.

Popescu is a director at Viitorul and revealed, "There is interest from Spartak (Moscow) and Barcelona, although I cannot say the sum.

"With Barça, there was talk of the acquisition and subsequent loan to Valladolid, Barcelona could offer more than Spartak, we are interested in the progress of Ianis, interest in him shows how important he is for foreign clubs.

"Ianis is a very valuable player who can play in any championship, but has not yet reached football maturity, it will take another 2-3 years, however, he had a great season in Viitorul and in the European Youth Championship."
