The Vancouver Whitecaps have unveiled new signings Marcel De Jong and David Edgar by mocking up a Pokémon Go battle screen and tweeting out the clip.

Alongside the simple caption 'de Jong and Edgar: captured', the MLS side posted a video of both players 'appearing' before being zapped into separate Poke Balls as they begin life at BC Place.

The trailer added: "Welcome to the club."
