Pohang Liverpool fans could see Fowler in Reds shirt

Liverpool fans in South Korea's Pohang could have the chance of seeing club icon Robbie Fowler in competitive action in a Reds shirt!

Pohang Steelers have drawn Adelaide United in their Asian Champions League group and the Aussie club are interested in signing Fowler on a short-term deal for the campaign.

Fowler is tied to North Queensland Fury, but would be available for Adelaide for the Champions League group stage.

Fury were bowled over last year by the response to Fowler from fans during their preseason tour of Singapore and Adelaide can expect even greater coverage on their trips to South Korea and China with the Merseyside icon in tow.

"If he was available, we'd certainly be keen to pursue Robbie Fowler," Adelaide chief Michael Petrillo told The Advertiser.

"He's a great player, a legend. But at this stage, the A-League rules won't allow us to loan him. He'd have to terminate his contract and he has another year to run with the Fury."
