Mauricio Pochettino is tied to Tottenham until the end of the season.
The Mirror says Pochettino's Tottenham exit package has given under-fire Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer more time.
If the Argentine lands another job before the end of the season then Spurs will be entitled to up to £10million compensation.
Solskjaer has been given assurances until the end of the season as Executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward and the club's American owners want to give the Norwegian the opportunity to turn United's fortunes around on the pitch after taking a gamble on his appointment 10 months ago.
But the club's reluctance to invest significantly in the January transfer market – after spending £150million on players in the summer – is a sign that the next four months will make or break Solskjaer's United future.
