Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged fans to be calm over Toby Alderweireld's contract situation.

His current contract runs out in 18 months but Tottenham have the option of adding an extra year.

And boss Poch insists chairman Daniel Levy has it all under control.

Poch said: “This is a message for our fans. Toby still has 2½ years of contract.

“Messi had six months left on his contract. Messi! Nothing happened.

“Players like Lamela also still haven't signed.

“Calm. Calm. Our fans. Because Daniel is very good, he has managed the club 17 or 18 years.

“Let Daniel work. It is important the fans trust in Daniel."
