Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll has revealed that manager Mauricio Pochettino expects nothing but a 100% commitment from his players, particularly in training.

Pochettino has done a wonderful job at White Hart Lane since his arrival at the beginning of last season and under his tutelage, Spurs are now genuine contenders to claim the Premier League title this term.

One can easily notice the higher level of discipline and intensity in the current Spurs side, and promising youngster Carroll has gone on to reveal that such a quality has been instilled in the squad due to Pochettino's extremely high demands in training.

Carroll told the Bleacher Report: "The training methods are quite intense and concentration levels are to the max throughout any session. So when it comes to matches we know to work for the full 90 minutes.

"Now, when it comes to training, everyone is on it for the whole session. No one gives in. No one sacks it off. There is a really good togetherness in this squad and the manager has taught us to never give up.

"The manager just expects the best from us and everyone has bought into it. We need a mentality where we never believe we are beaten, and now we are up there challenging we have to continue with it.

"It is great to be up there, but we have to take each game as it comes, get the points on the board, and see where it takes us."
