Mauricio Pochettino says Pep Guardiola could have been sacked "seven or eight times" at Manchester City if they had worked to PSG standards.

Pochettino was dismissed by PSG at the end of last season after falling short in the Champions League - a competition Guardiola is yet to win as City manager.

Pochettino told AS: "Guardiola should have been sacked seven or eight times!

"These are different realities. PSG is built to try to win the Champions League. If we do not succeed, I am primarily responsible.

"Nobody hides from that."
