Mauricio Pochettino will be free to speak to other clubs this month after his six-month gardening leave with Tottenham Hotspur ended.

Any club trying to sign Pochettino since he was sacked by Spurs in November would have had to negotiate a release with club chairman Daniel Levy.

The coronavirus pandemic means the Argentine could return before the end of the season.

But theIrish Independent says Pochettino would rather start fresh in the 2020/21 campaign.

Newcastle United have been touted as a possible destination for Pochettino, with the club in the process of a Saudi-backed takeover.
