Incoming A-League club Melbourne Heart have had an influx of candidates for the assistant coach's role.
The club will join the A-League next season and after having already appointed former Holland international John van't Schip as head coach, are now looking to fill the vacant number two position.
Former South Melbourne coach and Ajax midfielder Mike Petersen has expressed his interest in the role and will be included in the interview process to be conducted by the club.
Other names involved include former New Zealand striker Vaughan Coveny, ex-Carlton FC assistant Fab Incantalupo, former Socceroos star Eddie Krncevic, ex-Melbourne Knights head coach Chris Taylor, Adelaide United assistant Phil Stubbins and Gold Coast United number two and former Socceroos midfielder Paul Okon.
