Benevento coach Pippo Inzaghi is delighted to have guided the club to Serie A promotion.

A 1-0 win over Juve Stabia last night secured their promotion.

Benevento achieved it with a record 77 points, with seven rounds to go, a massive 24 points ahead of the chasing pack.

“I think what we did tonight really was the right image, as we were down to 10 men for almost the whole game," AC Milan great Inzaghi told DAZN.

“These lads achieved something historic, as there was a record of 77 points and we matched it. We won every single home game, I really don't know what else to say."

He added: “I am happy for the President and the director, as they believed in me. We had the best defensive record in Europe and the lads have been fabulous. They went above and beyond, as did my staff. I never expected to make history."
