AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has signed a new two-year contract extension.

Pioli's previous deal was due to expire in June.

He said, "Signing a renewal with Milan is always very exciting, it's what I wanted and wished for, I thank the owners for this opportunity and the technical area also for the timing in which this contract was done.

“I am very happy, if possible signing this gives me even more energy to continue what we are doing."

Serie A title holders Milan currently sit third in the Serie A table after 12 games, six points behind league leaders Napoli.
