Former Everton star Steven Pienaar feels Ademola Lookman is set for a big season ahead.

Pienaar insists Lookman can have a big future at Goodison Park.

“I am looking forward to Lookman getting more game time and developing as a player because he is a really exciting young player," Pienaar told the Liverpool Echo.

“He is still young and raw but I can see a lot of good signs in him. His talent is there, he just needs the finishing touches and hopefully this will be his season to break through.

“I was quite fortunate when I broke into the Ajax first-team, Ronald Koeman came in the December and two months later he played me and let me play until the end of the season.

“Young players need to make mistakes to learn from them and you need to play week in, week out. There is a lot of expectation to win games but he just needs to push himself and be consistent."
