Former QPR winger Matt Phillips admits speaking with Sandro about his West Brom experience.

Albion were interested in Phillips last summer, but he was even more eager to join this year after speaking to one of his QPR team-mates.

“Sandro was here for the last six months of last season and he speaks very highly of the club so I just couldn't wait to get it done," said Phillips.

“As soon as I heard about the interest from the club, I had a year left on my contract at QPR so I thought now would be the right time and thankfully we're here.

"“I wanted to get back in the Premier League and I've heard great things about the manager."
