Phelan: 'Unbelievable challenge' for Eto'o to join Hull

Hull City boss Mike Phelan says that it would be an 'unbelievable challenge' for veteran striker Samuel Eto'o to join the Tigers.

The former Barcelona star, who is currently playing with Turkish side Antalyaspor, has been linked with a winter move to the KCOM Stadium.

Phelan also jokingly mentioned that the 35-year-old former Chelsea and Everton man would need to help on corners as the Tigers have conceded 12 goals from set-pieces this season.

Following the 3-1 defeat to West Brom, the Tigers currently occupy19th spot in the league table and are one of the favourites to suffer relegation this season.

"Can Samuel defend corners?" Phelan said after the defeat.

"I haven't heard anything, but it would be an unbelievable challenge if Samuel Eto'o wanted to come to Hull City.

"But that's the least of my worries. We have to look to improve in certain situations. Every position at this moment is up for grabs.

"We've been trying to put things together and analyse other players to come in. And we're still trying.

"So if we can get some over the line then that would be great because everybody needs that bit of help."
