Manchester United No2 Mike Phelan says they left Chelsea satisfied with their performance after last night's 1-0 defeat.
United more than matched the Premiership leaders before being undone by a late John Terry header.
Phelan told BBC Sport: "We felt that we could come here (Stamford Bridge) and give Chelsea a very, very good game. Tactically I thought we did very, very well - the players stood up to the task and did what was asked of them so, we can't grumble on that score but sometimes you don't get always what you deserve.
" I thought we created some real chances, maybe our selection of passes in the final third wasn't just right but I think overall, Chelsea realised they were in the game today."
