Darren Ferguson has been sacked as manager of Peterborough United, claims The Sun. The Posh are bottom of the Championship having taken just 11 points from their opening 16 matches.
A 3-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday was the final nail in Ferguson's coffin, and chairman Darragh MacAnthony has decided to wield the axe at London Road.
The Scot's dismissal comes as somewhat of a surprise considering he led the club to back-to-back promotions in each of his two full seasons in charge.
The club are expected to make an official announcement once the terms of Ferguson's pay-off has been agreed.
