Pericard wants to extend Carlisle stay

Cameroon striker Vincent Pericard hopes to extend his stay with Carlisle beyond January, when his current deal expires. The former Juventus and Stoke targetman has made an impressive contribution to the Cumbrians' season since signing a short-term deal last month, scoring twice in his five outings so far.

"I'm extremely happy with my football and with my fitness," the 27 year old said. "I think that the manager had doubts over it but I have played five games in a row and have been playing well. I'm confident and enjoying myself.

"Greg Abbott was the manager that showed the faith to take a gamble on me and I will never forget that. Thanks to him I have been able to get my career back on track. I would like to stay."
