Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira hailed the team's character for their 3-2 win over Southampton.

Pereira struck in the five goal thriller.

"It's a very important win for us," he said. "“We showed big spirit and, hopefully now, we can take it on to Wednesday and show it again. "

“It's special because we came along together and we all know each other well. Paul [Pogba], Jesse [Lingard] and Marcus [Rashford] too [as well as Scott McTominay and Chong]. So it's like a big, big family and that's why a game is never finished when we're playing because we stick together and that makes us very strong.

“I'm just here to help the team and hopefully I can keep helping. The manager shows a lot of trust in me and I'm very thankful for that. I just want to do all I can on the pitch.

"We're back in the top four and hopefully we can keep going and get the Champions League spot."
