Pereira admits difficulties joining Leicester

Portuguese right back Ricardo Pereira has admitted that he experienced some difficulties in signing for Leicester City.

While the player is happy to be there, he believes that moving away from his family was a struggle.

Leicester fans will be hoping that Pereira has a positive impact on the coming season. Their first league game of the season sees them take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

"It is always difficult to leave your home country," says Pereira to Leicestershire Live.

"But I think this was the best option for me, for my career. We can do good things here. I have only family: mother, father, brothers.

"They have been very important in my career. They were always by my side, not just in the good moments but the bad moments too. I will always take them with me. I hope they can come to watch the games and be with me."

The 24-year-old is likely to be the main man at right back for Leicester this coming season.
