Manchester City may be odds-on FA Cup favourites but Pennant, who played for Liverpool in the 2007 Champions League final defeat by AC Milan, says nobody can rival Stoke for their spirit and sheer determination.
"You'll have foreigners there and the English players over here and they'll all be separated. At Stoke everyone is one. I've enjoyed it most at Stoke because at the other clubs, while they may have been bigger, there was always something missing.
"Here everything is just perfect.
"Because it's such a massive achievement for the club to get to the Cup final it makes it that little bit better. If you are at teams who get to an FA Cup final every other year it's like, 'OK we got to another final, great'.
"But it's the first time for Stoke so it means more and it's a first for me as well so we've got something in common. We are all on the same page at this club. We know what we're doing and what we have to do.
"We're together. No one's breaking off, you haven't got groups. We all take the mick out of each other and you can never feel safe in the dressing room!
"That's what you need though and it helps massively.
"I'm mainly a loud one chirping off and making people laugh but most of the players do it. Every day there will be someone putting a smile on your face and it's good to come into work knowing you are going to have a bit of a giggle.
"The manager should get all the credit for getting the team the way it is and making it such a unit."
