Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant is eager to sign permanently with Stoke City.
The winger endured a nightmare year at Real Zaragoza and was sent home and fined in February for turning up late for training three times.
Pennant, 27, who is rated at £2million by the Spanish side, said: "Getting a permanent move here is definitely the incentive.
"The manager who signed me (in Spain) got the sack and the new one wanted to go defensive. It was difficult for me to get in his plans and not speaking the language made it harder. It's now nice to understand team meetings!"
