Manuel Pellegrini's final home game in charge with Manchester City did not end the way he had planned.
The Chilean oversaw his last match at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday but his team were unable to produce a winning result, held to a 2-2 draw by Arsenal.
On two occasions the home side were in front after goals from Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne only to be twice pegged back by the visiting Gunners which ended Pellegrini's time at the venue on less than a high than he would have liked.
"I wanted another goodbye of winning the game, playing attacking and attractive football that we have for most of the three years I have been here," said the man who will step aside for Pep Guardiola this summer.
"The team gave a good answer in the game but if you don't win it's not the same to say goodbye.
"The three years were wonderful and unforgettable and I hope this club continues improving in the future."
