Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he has no plans to change Manchester City's attacking game plan.
Last season's premiers hammered QPR 6-0 on Sunday in a performance that delighted their manager who has been criticised in recent times for failing to alter their style for certain situations.
However, Pellegrini insists the club's attitude towards free-flowing football would not change despite their shortcomings in the title race which was won by Chelsea this campaign.
"We don't change our style. It is important to be a scoring team, not just to score one goal and try to keep the result. We never change that philosophy of football," he told Sky Sports.
"That is why I am happy, not only for the six goals, but because we were a balanced team and played with a lot of spirit to win against a team that took a lot of risks because they needed to win."
Sergio Aguero netted a treble while Aleksandar Kolarov, James Milner and David Silva were also on the scoresheet as City condemned bottom-placed QPR to the drop.
