Pellegrini admits Man City over-reliant on Aguero

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini accepts that striker Sergio Aguero has carried the goal scoring burden alone for the Citizens this year.

Aguero equalled last season's career-best tally of 28 with the winner at Tottenham on Sunday. On the other hand, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Wilfried Bony have managed just 12 goals between them.

"Well maybe this year," The Chilean replied when asked if City had become reliant on Aguero.

"Sergio has scored a lot of goals but normally in the team all the players are scoring goals.

"The midfielders [scored], last year it was Dzeko and Negredo, this year he [Aguero] had a bad season with a lot of injuries and now we have Bony, so I think in the way we play it's important for the strikers to score goals.

"Normally we spread the goals with a lot of players. This year, maybe for different reasons, we have less goals and Sergio is scoring more, but normally all of our players are involved scoring goals."
