Tottenham No2 Gus Poyet feels Tomas Pekhart has taken a key step during their preseason camp in Spain.

Pekhart, 19, impressed in his first season at Academy level in 2006-07 and was top-scorer for the reserve team last season.

"He's a big striker, he likes to be in the box and when you get into those positions you will get chances- it's then about taking them," Poyet told Tottenham's website.

"It's an important milestone for him and that is always the case with goals when you are a striker."
