Pearson to oversee massive Hull clearout in January

Hull City's squad face a massive clearout in January.

New chairman Adam Pearson has been shocked by the Tigers' current outgoings on player wages.

Sources suggest City have amassed one of the Premier League's top 10 wage bills over the last 12 months, standing at around a staggering £40m, says the Hull Daily Mail.

Daniel Cousin, George Boateng and Bernard Mendy are all understood to earn in excess of £24,000-a-week and are expected to be made available for transfer in January.

Peter Halmosi, Craig Fagan and Richard Garcia, who have struggled to become Premier League regulars, are also likely to be part of a clear-out.

The club will also seek to secure permanent deals in January for the likes of Caleb Folan, Bryan Hughes and Nathan Doyle, who are each out on-loan at Middlesbrough, Derby and Barnsley.
