Pearson: Everyone at Leicester will learn from Cambiasso

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says Esteban Cambiasso's arrival will benefit every member of the club's football staff.

Cambiasso finally signed a one-year deal after weeks of prolonged negotiations. Pearson, though, said his new star was as keen as he was to complete the move.

"There have been quite prolonged negotiations but we were always confident that once we got him here, we could make it happen. He has been as big a driving force as we have.

"To be at the training ground and see the excitement from the players. He will add a lot to what is already a talented squad. He will bring that extra know-how and a vast array of experiences."

It is that experience that will have as much of an impact off the field as on it. For young midfielders like Danny Drinkwater, Matty James, Andy King, and even a more experienced head like Dean Hammond, having someone of Cambiasso's quality and experience around the place, should benefit their game hugely.

"When you get an opportunity to sign someone with such experience and ambition still, it is a very positive signing and will help the players develop themselves," said Pearson.

Pearson said even he might learn a thing or two.

He told the Leicester Mercury: "I, like anyone else, has the capacity to keep learning and certainly when someone comes with a wealth of experience as he has, I will probably will continue to learn from him.

"Managers learn as much from players as they do from coaches. Hopefully, I will continue to learn from my players as well."
