Pearson and Powell set for Aston Villa?

Nigel Pearson is keen to speak with Aston Villa about the manager's job.

The Daily Mail says Pearson would look at taking Chris Powell with him to Aston Villa were he to take over as manager.

Pearson signed the former England left back in August 2008 as Leicester earned promotion from League One, before handing him his first coaching role in 2010.

Powell became Charlton manager in 2011, steering the team to the League One title in 2011-12, but he was sacked three years later amid reports of interference from owner Roland Duchatelet.

He also spent a year in charge of Huddersfield Town.
